Cross-country skiing

Malå has fantastic ski trails for beginners as well as elite skiers. Every year Malå IF organizes youth races and long runs in the varied terrain in and around Tjamstan. The lights next to the tracks are lit until 22.30.

The tracks are prepared in case of snowfall and before weekends. There are also excursion trails to Ljustjärn and trails on Lilla Skeppträsket. These are prepared on a voluntary basis and track quality and preparation varies.

The start is at the ice rink, where there is also an information board and car parking.

Cross-country equipment, ski boots and poles are available for hire at the hotel reception. Free of charge for hotel guests, for a fee for others. (20 SEK up to 3 hours, 150 SEK/day, 500 SEK/week, copy of ID document required)
